Lesson 1: Sugar Cookies :)

Sugar cookies are a simple cookie to make!












here is the recipe:
it makes 48 cookies.... (u can cut it in half if you want)


Ingredients 


  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. 
2. In a SMALL bowl, sift (stir) together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
3. In a LARGE bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. (use an electric mixer, or cut butter into pieces to blend it easier). Beat in egg and vanilla (not necessary)
4. Gradually blend in dry ingredients. (put a little at a time, blend, then add more until it is well mixed in)
5. Roll rounded teaspoons of dough into balls, and place onto UNGREASED cookie sheet. (dont forget aluminum foil! to make cookies flatterish, lightly press down on the cookies, also make sure the cookies are spaced about 1 inch apart)
6. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. (put timer on for 9 minutes, they may look soft but take it out to be sure) Let cookies stand on cookie sheet for TWO minutes to cool.
